more physically demanding sport???

what would you say is more physically demanding to play.. prefossional NFL football or professional NHL hockey..

by physically demanding I mean.. takes more skill to play, requires you to be in the best physical shape, leaves you more exhausted after a game, and will take the most toll on your body over the course of a normal professional career

which sport, when taking all those factors into consideration do you believe is more demanding.. and if you so feel the need to, explain why???

The only thing hockey takes a bigger toll on is teeth. Football is a little more intricate than hockey, /thread.

Hockey. There's way too much time between plays, offensive/defensive switches, etc. Hockey you get a few minutes break and then you're on the ice playing full out, full speed, full contact every second.

Football is going to take a bigger toll on your body, but hockey is going to require more skill and endurance all around.

hockey

hockey, you have to play offense and defence at the same time, 180 feet from goal to goal. When the person who has posession of the puck gets hit the play does not stop like in football.

The players in the NHL are not nearly as big as most football players but it takes alot more muscular endurance to play hockey than to play football. Most linemen couldn't run 180ft, much less do it 4 times in a 45sec shift.

Agreed.

And, you play offense and defense during the same plays. Most football players are playing offense, then switching when the defensive team comes out.

Not to mention Hockey is extremely fast paced.
