I'll throw a couple out there. . .
NBA: Elgin Baylor went to 8 nba finals and came up empty handed each time. NFL: Jim Kelly went to 4 straight Super Bowl, But lost all 4 of them. MLB: Ted Willams seems like the obvious choice. I guess you can say he had the curse going against him. NHL: I would have to go with Marcel Dionne who toiled in what was then a pretty obscure location (Los Angeles) without getting the recognition or the support he needed. |

Barry Bonds was one of the greatest ever (even if his performance was "enhanced") and he never won the World Series. In the NFL its Dan Marino, but Kelley does come close since he made it 4 straight years to the Super Bowl. In the NBA Malone and Barkley come to mind as top players who never won, normally the great NBA players win championships and do it multiple times.
