I started training a couple of weeks ago, however the coach told me not to do any weight training at all.
According to him the weights will only make me slower on my fights; any help please?

I honestly dont know, but I would imagine you have to do something to increase strength. I have no idea of what the training for MMA involves.

Weight training isnt what you want, believe me. All those guys you see that are jacked up from lifting, they gas super quick in the cage. More muscle mass=more oxygen needed. They key is MMA is lean muscle and endurance. Believe me, if youre rolling with people at the gym everyday, even just 15-20 minutes, you'll build up muscle. I'd need to talk to you more about what youre doing in your workouts at class to figure out what, if any, additional things you might need to be doing.

Mr. Pink, I agree he shouldn't do a body building routine. I think if he was going to do anything he should do Olympic lifts.
They teach strength, endurance, explosion, power and balance.
