Basic rules to weight loss. 1. No pop or juice with sugar. Some people say i i okay to do dies pop. I do not agree with that because water speeds up your metabolism. 2. Breakfast should be the largest meal of the day. 3. Do not let your body go hungry. If you need to eat 8 meals a day then so be it. 4. Lots of cardio. 5. weight training. Muscle burns calories fat does not. You are very limited on the weight training with your hand. I need more info on your hand. 6. every meal should be based around protein and fiber. Protein and fiber are hard to digest and they make you feel fuller longer. The harder your body has to work to breakdown what you eat, the better. To lose weight and keep it off it requires a lifestyle change not a temporary diet. Trust me, once you start getting in the habit of working out, you will see how much better you feel and you will get really into it. You are going to have to focus mainly on cardio since your hand is injured. There are very few things you can do with an injured hand and they still require you to pick up 45 lb plates. http://www.postgamepub.com/weight-lo...-beer-gut.html I wrote up a little something about how to boost your metabolism in that thread.

The portions are up to you. You will have to see what it takes to keep your body from being hungry.
Hard boiled eggs Granola bars. There is a kashi cereal that has 10g of fiber and 13 g of protein and is a good source of complex carbs. I will list some more stuff later.

Yes, The less sugar/simple carbs the better. You will need some complex carbs. Like whole grains and brown rice. A lot of stuff will have a few grams of sugar and it wont slow your progress if its left in moderation.

heed ninjasword"s advice for nutrition: it's sound advice from a person, who from previous posts, sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
with regard to the injury, there's plenty you can do to get in shape without putting any strain on the injured hand. i've been battling wrist and forearm injuries for the better part of five years, and have maintained a sound program of weight training and cardiovascular exercise. however, you must have access to the gym, a gym, or somebody's house who has a fair amount of free weights. now like ninja said, it all begins with nutrition. carbohydrates ARE your friend, and a steady supply of protein is essential. ninja has given you the basics, which even with your budget constraints, should be well within your reach. depending on your restraints, supplements can do a lot of good in helping you sustain a diet which will enable you to look great, have more energy, and feel better than you have in years. pm me for a few essentials which are cost conscious and effective. i should also note, steer clear of any "weight loss" products you might currently be taking. these are extremely counter productive to your long term weight loss goals, and also don't quite work as advertised (no ephedra-- why bother?) also, the side effects from amphetamines are horrendous (take my word for it.) even if you are unable to go to the gym, some moderate cardiovascular exercise and a change in your diet will be more than enough to see some results, you just have to be patient (as with any weight loss program that actually works, and is worth a damn, patience is key). feel free to pm me with your email address, and even some more info regarding your situation (ability to attend a gym, budget, anything at all), and i'll be more than happy to help. i'm currently assisting a female friend of mine to lose weight, and she's seen fantastic, and long lasting results. she began the program at 190 pounds, 24 years of age, and had never worked out a day in her life. over the course of two years, she's lost close to 35 pounds, maintained the weight loss, gained control of her metabolism, and experienced a substantial loss in body fat and water retention ( the enemy of any woman trying to get in shape). she also has a diet absolutely anybody could live with. with some hard work, dedication, and discipline, you could easily achieve your goal weight, although probably not as soon as you'd like. however, the results will be long lasting, and you'll love your new, healthy lifestyle (your wife, gf, or significant other will love it as well). let me know and best of luck to you. just remember, stay positive, as your goals are well within your reach, even with your present injury. |

Wow thanks for the info and help!!
three years ago i work as a courier and i spent alot of time in my car and i was always in a rush, and i ate a ton of fast food and it caught up to me big time. like 2 months ago i realized that i was way to big, so i stopped eating fast food, and tryed to start eating healthy. cutting down on sodas and started drinking a bunch of water at work instead of soda. now my wife is 14 weeks pregnant and we both started to buy more fruits and veggies. its hard now because i am on workman's comp and the pay sucks big time. I dont go to a gym we only have a few around here and i have been to them all and did there one week tryouts and i did not feel conformable at all, the trainers were not helpful at all, they are more worried about trying to hook up with all the chicks that go there than to do there job and help people that need it, i am sure they are all not like that just the ones i tryed dealing with were. now one more thing, when i walk or jog more than like 45 mins the inside of my thighs get raw and hurt like a mofo is there anything i can put on them to prevent it?? thanks again for all the help guys i went to the store and bought a bunch of stuff to try out Thanks Bobby |

cutting out the fast food and soda is a great first step. sometimes you're short on time and need a quick bite, so eating it sparingly isn't going to kill you, but since you'll be spending much more time at home, this shouldn't be an issue. as for feeling uncomfortable at the gym, everybody feels that way the first time they go. don't let this keep you from attending regularly though: you don't know those people and you're never going to see them again for the most part, and half the guys that think they're hot shit don't know what the hell they are doing anyway. for the most part, the personal trainers at the larger facilities are low-wage and not likely very good/educated at what they do. most of them are a waste of money. trust me, the personal trainers worth a damn are FAR out of your price range, and |
