First, I want to thank all the participants for submitting a picture, even if you're not a "photographer". Not bad for a first contest. Hopefully we'll have more submissions and better ideas in the future.

As you can tell by my post count, I'm not here that often.

I voted for 1, because 4 is not a portrait of a person. It's a person in front of what seems to be a portrait of a landscape, making it the focal point.

which is why i voted one over 5...i wasn't going to say anything but since u did...why not lol...people are voting for 5 because of background...i wouldn't consider it a portrait...shes not looking at the camera and the background catches ur attention more than anything

imo...the competition would be between 1 and 3...i only chose one over 3 because the white balance seems off in 3

damn right the ballance is off...i dunno what ballance is. I don't think my point and shoot camera even has a ballance button

I just put the camera on night mode and sat it on the coffee table to keep it still, i don't have a tri pod and it was dark in the room. The only lighting in the room were our two lamps with the "energy efficient bulbs" which means it's effing dark in there. The yellow-ish light was given off by the antique style lampshades.
