St Louis Cardinals Is this the end for Isringhausen?

He performed exceptionally well at the beginning of the season, but that success is nowhere to be found now.

Today marked his sixth blown save, and it appears as if he's just not mentally in it anymore. He's already been taken out of the closer role, so it's just middle-relief until he returns back to normal.

Last Friday, he was so upset about his performance that he hurt himself by swatting at a TV during a post-game meeting. Little bit more a risk than Papelbon's water cooler incident.

I'm thinking about cutting him because now both him, and Chad Cordero aren't producing.

have to disagree Jerome. The sauce helps with recovery time, significantly. Don't ask me how I know

of course it does... that's why many pitchers took it. however, it doesn't add velocity, give you extra sink, or anything like that. it doesn't even keep you from getting gassed after pitching two consecutive days. it mainly helps you stay off of the dl, and throw a few extra innings over the course of a season. it isn't going to make you a dominant pitcher.

Couldn't agree more. When he was on that stretch run of 3 years when he was just unhittable.

Dallas Mavericks Re: Is this the end for Isringhausen?

I think that hes going to get one more chance to be the closer once he gets back from his injury and if he has a couple of bad starts then hes out as the closer and Ryan Franklin will be, I just don't think Izzy is good any more and as for Gagne i think he'll get it back on track because he will get plenty of save oppurtunities and he'll just start closin and shutin people down but he might give up 3 or 4 runs now and then.
