If you haven't already decided, may I suggest the Bulls? They have a big fanbase thanks in part to Jordan, they are a young up-and-coming team like Portland but not your sworn enemy, and you won't seem that different rooting for them in another city (unlike the typical bandwagon fan).
Either choice is a good one as they said, you'll get to see plenty of Portland so if you watch hoops a ton that might be the way to go. If not or you just really can't root for them, give the Derrick Rose and the Baby Bulls a thought. |

Well, when the Raiders and Rams left LA and I had to pick a new team, I cheered for whatever team my favorite player was on. At the time it was Dan Marino and I've been a Dolphins fan ever since.
You should go that route. Pick the team your favorite player is currently on. Or pick a young player that is uber talented and cheer for his team. I suggest the Hornets with Chris Paul, Orlando with Dwight Howard, Utah with Deron Williams, or Atlanta with all their young players. |

Hmmm. Both Trey and Question mark make a good point...
I'm going to have to think this over, but I really do like Chris Paul and LeBron... Temporary allegance to the Trail Blazers will be put on hold until I can figure something out. And I understand about being a Bulls fan... but as much as i loved M.J., they beat the Sonics in the 1996 Finals. Can't forgive them for that

My city used to root for the Jazz when John Stockton played there. He was born and raised here too, so that was a big key. Adam Morrison's from here as well, but not really anybody here roots the Bobcats.

Lol. Yeah at least we have the Storm. Problem is they might be going away soon as well. Sad, when the only championship team you have left now isn't in the big 3 sports.

The Thundercats. Not the Thunder, they don't exist to me. I would root for the Oklahoma City Thundercats as well if I weren't already a Blazer fan. Why not be named after an old cartoon show?

Dont jump the bandwagon and be a Hornets or Cavs fan just cuz of one player. After they retire, then wat are you going to do? I think the smart pick is the Blazers.
