Terms have been agreed on that Allen Iverson is going to Detroit..

Pistons get

Allen Iverson

Denver gets

Chauncey Billups
Antonio McDyess
Cheikh Samb

this trade puts detroit right back into the mix of the Eastern conference...

I guess AI wasn't The Answer for Denver.

Clearly Detroit is blowing this team up and going through rebulding mode. With both Sheed and AI off the books, they can make a run at Boozer in 09 or keep their cap space and make a run at the big FAs in 2010. Plus getting AI and not just any ending K allows to them make one last run at the ring this year. Won't happen since a team with AI at point will never win it all...but they'll at least compete.

For Denver it's more questionable. They don't really dump salary -- they actually pick up about 25 million. They don't get much younger either. But they do add more balance at both ends of the floor. They now have a true lead guard with championship experience and have added some defensive toughness....they just don't have the right coach.

wow this is a very shocking trade to say the least. I have to see and analyze a little more before I can jump to conclusions to how it will affect both teams.

good all around deal for both teams. Clearly Detroit made this deal to free up future cap room for Lebron

Detroit will NOT get Lebron when he becomes a FA. lol, maybe Bosh or Wade would be enticed, but I dont think Lebron.

they will have a good case when that time comes....the could be in the position to ask lebron who he wants to play with and pick him up....if things go the way they want, they will have 33 million of cap room going into that offseason....

even if they dont get lebron, look for them to get 2 superstar free agents....they will have the money...
