Madden Cover: Coincidence or Curse? : Virtual Sports Network

Do you believe in the Madden Curse? There is decent supporting evidence from each version. Favre & the Jets choke to miss out on the playoffs, Mangini gets fired, he leads the league in interceptions.

Does it exist? If your favorite team's star player was going to be on the cover, would you care about it at all? Or is it just a silly notion.

Madden curse revolves around injury.

Favre also suffered a shoulder injury. EA Sports really thought they made a good pick this year because he just retired and it was the 20th anniversary, but there was no escaping the curse.

Injury and bad play is attributed to the curse. And Vince Young's can be delayed to include this season, but last season he missed the first game due to injury in his life.

The curse is very real, but it's better than putting Madden on the cover every year.

It exists. If I were an NFL player and were given the opportunity to be on the cover i'd pass. Forget the money, I'd rather worry about my future contracts in the NFL.

yea i agree...the curse lives....the players either get hurt or have a really bad season.....

LT passed up the cover for the 2008 cover. He claims it wasn't because of the curse, but I think that's B.S.

The Curse is there. Even if it's not major like with McNabb, Alexander, or Culpepper, it's somehow there.

I pity the next player who embraces the cover of 2010.

Well then Larry needs to use all that speed that he has to run away as fast as possible from the Madden people

If Larry does this and he gets injured, the Cardinals are screwed for next season.
Not like it matter. The cardinals got to the playoffs by a weak division.
